Dragon Seas Adventures

Dragon Seas Adventures

An AI Narrator invents five islands and a finale. Kids draw as they go — blank paper, dice, and big choices.

Style note: this is a draw / color-in as you go game. Kids sketch their pirate, ship job badge, islands, treasures, and stars as the Narrator invents them — no pre-printing required.

Stop 1

Setting Sail

A crew of young pirates sails the ever-changing Dragon Seas. Every game the Narrator invents five brand-new islands plus a unique finale. Kids choose where to sail next and must visit all five islands before the finale unlocks — quests may send them back and forth along the way.

What You Actually Need

  • Blank paper or a notebook for each kid (or one shared big sheet)
  • Markers / crayons
  • One 6-sided die per player, so everyone can roll at once
  • A screen for the Narrator — that's us, hit Play below

Boarding the Crew

The Narrator handles almost everything — the adult just gets it started.

  1. Hit Play and open a table — you'll get a private session link.
  2. The Narrator asks: “How many pirates are sailing today?”
  3. For each pirate, it asks for a pirate name, then 5–7 classic Mad-Lib style words.
  4. It invents a unique silly origin story from those exact words, and randomly assigns a ship job — Lookout, Cook, Map Reader, Treasure Keeper, Sail Puller, Dragon Whisperer, and more.
  5. Once every pirate is created, it introduces the whole crew, invents the 5 islands + finale, sets Ship Status to Happy, and the voyage begins at the docks.

Stop 3

The Open Sea

Locations — The Narrator invents 5 unique islands plus 1 special finale every game. Kids may sail to any of the 5 islands they haven't finished yet, and the finale stays locked until all five have been visited and resolved. Quests may send the crew back and forth between islands.

Travel — When the crew sails from one place to another, the Narrator often throws in a short surprise peril that needs a group dice total or a quick A/B choice.

On an Island
  1. The Narrator describes the new place — draw it!
  2. It presents a clear A or B choice, Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style — sometimes aimed at one specific pirate.
  3. Often a dice challenge follows, or is part of the choice.
  4. Everyone who wants to can roll; tap in the total.
  5. The outcome follows the total. Low totals can mean trying a different way, losing a trinket, dropping Ship Status, or coming back later.
  6. Stars, trinkets, and Ship Status update on the table.

↺ …and the loop continues, island after island.

Stop 4

Ship’s Condition

Dropping status creates problem-solving opportunities, and can be repaired by good choices, high rolls, or spending treasures.

Stars

Personal glory, collected on each pirate's own sheet or drawing.

💰

Trinkets & Treasures

Can be spent or lost — monkey theft is fair game. They feel useful, and genuinely at risk.

Journey’s End

When the finale is completed, the Narrator gives a short group victory first — then a longer, epic, unique personal ending for each pirate, weaving in their origin story words, their job, the stars they earned, and specific moments from the adventure.

🖋 For the Adult at the Helm

Captain's Log

Everything you need at the table. Hit Play for a unique session link, then let the Narrator ask the questions, invent the world, and offer button choices — you just steer the room.

READY WHEN YOU AREPlay ⚓

Session state (names, story, Ship Status) lives in your browser, keyed to the link — share it at the table, not across the whole internet. Close the tab and come back later; the crew will still be right where you left them.

Adult Quick Reference

  • Let the Narrator ask the questions and generate everything.
  • When it says “roll,” have every kid who wants to roll add their numbers together and tap in the total.
  • Encourage drawing: “Draw the island we just found!” “Draw your new trinket!” “Color a star!”
  • If Ship Status drops, celebrate the problem-solving (“Oh no, we’re sticky with honey — what should we do?”).
  • Keep energy high — dice totals and A/B choices are the main engines.
If the chat gets long and the AI starts drifting: your progress is already structured in the browser — refresh and it picks right back up where the crew left off.

Drawing / Color-as-You-Go Tips

  • Each kid can have a pirate page: name, job badge, origin doodles, stars, trinkets.
  • Shared ship page: current status face (Happy / Okay / Needs Help) and any damage doodles.
  • Island page or map: kids draw each new island as the Narrator describes it.
  • No need for perfect art — scribbles and bright colors are perfect.
